Got some feedback that some subs didn’t know there was a Loom/video link… so we’ll try this way for a bit without my face in your feed!

Think about those containers, folkx, it can make or break your project.

Happy writing!

(And a free Exercise for everyone this week! Reminder that paid subs get 3 free writing exercises every week!)

Exercise 1: The Engine Test

Prompt:
Take the idea that’s been living rent-free in your head. Without thinking about marketability or your favorite format, ask:

  1. What is the engine of this story? Is it presence and risk? Internal psychology? Striking images? World-building? Embodiment?

  2. Match that engine to a machine:

    • Presence/risk → Theater/LARP

    • Internal psychology → Novel

    • Striking images → Film

    • Long relationships/world depth → TV

    • Visual + internal + multi-layered storytelling → Comics/Manga

    • Systems/maps/choice → TTRPG or videogame

    • Empathy shift → 360° film

    • Embodied immersion → VR
